First Awareness, Then Notice & Now Action! Presently This Is Called ‘Halla Bol’!
In a significant step towards protecting the environment & taking some major actions to boycott polythene in city, few days prior Rourkela administration circulated a notice to every food vendors and shop proprietors to not utilize polythene. In an option it has been recommended to utilize jute bag which is not only durable but also ecological and extremely strong; over all a perfect replacement for plastic.
From last couple of months Rourkela Municipal Corporation & Rourkela administration has taken numerous activities to spread the attention to lessen the utilization of plastic bags. Furthermore, later on circled notice to all the retailers to control themselves from offering or giving any sort of plastic bags. Also yesterday Rourkela ADM Monisha Banerjee has conducted a raid herself along with health officer Basant K. Mishra and other officials at various places across Rourkela which includes street food vendors, bakery shops and other stores.
Not only that the administration has also checked the quality of food and collected the sample for testing purpose. From helping the homeless people to get a shelter to take a initiative for the leprosy patients, RMC & administration is leaving no stone to make it a genuine Smart City. This may be sound odd but it’s the first time when public is also supporting this progression and partaking in this mission to make Rourkela a Smart City!!
