Fascinated by the rapid yet stable growth of the state from the poorest to 24th rank, India Today has covered the remarkable journey of the CM from the initiation of his plans to implementation.
Naveen Pattnaik has always been modest about his achievements and in the interview when asked the same, he said “I think its more important that my work speaks for itself .”
Also in the interview Mr. Pattnaik brought into light the need for Odisha to be declared a special state in terms of schemes due to the huge number of natural calamities like flood and cyclones that the state faces on yearly basis damaging the infrastructure and economy. When asked if the central government has been cooperating for the same, he said “Sadly NO, it has not been responsive. Our poverty index has improved hugely as have other crucial parameters.
But you know we still have a great deal of poverty and we also have these disasters of floods and droughts happening
very often. They certainly damage the state’s economy and infrastructure. Therefore a special category status could
be of great help to Odisha.”
From Anti poverty programs to winning major prizes in agricultural zone; Odisha under Mr. Naveen Pattnaik has
certainly transformed from a small hut to a residential flat.
“Now the race is for Odisha to transform into a massive villa breathing life into hopes of thousands of poor hearts residing in the state looking up to the honorable CM with huge expectations.”
Although Odisha is no more the poorest state, it still has a long way to go to be actually a transformed one by prancing over its contenders in every field from education to healthcare, lifestyle to import-export.
