Earlier we have showed how people of Odisha are switching from traditional cash payments to more advanced & hassle free e-payment methods. After Demonetization majority of people were affected by cash-crunch and the e-payment system came to our life like an life saver angel. From branded outlets to small vendors, all opted for paytm and other e-wallets.
While Govt. of India encourages citizens to go cashless, now we have got more reasons to do so. The government has introduced a slew of measures to encourage people to switch to digital payments and cashless transactions.
The NITI Aayog on Thursday announced the launch of Lucky Grahak Yojna for consumers, and Digi Dhan Vyapari Yojna to encourage merchants to transition to digital payments.
Under this scheme customers and traders will be eligible to be daily, weekly or mega lucky winners if you are using digital payments in the next hundred days beginning on Christmas Day.
- Under the Digi Dhan Vyapari Yojana there will be 7000 weekly awards, a maximum of Rs. 50,000 each for merchants using digital transactions.
- There will be three mega lucky winner who could get cash rewards of Rs 25 lakhs, Rs 50 lakhs and Rs 1 crore.
- For merchants the mega lucky winner could win Rs 5 lakhs, Rs 25 lakhs or Rs 50 lakhs. The winners will be announced on April 14th.
To be eligible for the prizes, the transactions should be done using RuPay, AEPS and USSD. The amount transferred should not exceed Rs 3,000 and not less than Rs 50. P2P and B2B transactions, credit card transaction and e wallet transactions are not eligible for the rewards.
The govt. is trying hard to push the citizens for the cashless transaction and this move is just another example of how quickly central govt. wants to change the things. So, what are you waiting for? Start shopping without cash and get cash!
