This fresh controversy has started about a month ago when an activist Rudra Prasanna Rath has ignited this debate on the internet, standing in front of a hoarding of Kalamandir.
And it’s not only Kalamandir, there’re many commercial establishments which are using the wrong word RAJO instead of RAJA, one of the most celebrated festival of Odisha. While the entire issue is buzzing around on the internet and people are tagging media channels to highlight the issue, none of the electronics did a coverage on this campaign.
But it’s the Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray who takes a dig at the very famous PC Chandra Jewellers and that too on micro blogging social media site twitter. Dilip Ray thought it’s important to clarify exactly what we celebrate.
Rectifying PC Chandra’s tweet on Raja festival, Dilip mentioned “It should be “Raja” and not “Rajo”. Kindly rectify the incorrect spelling of this great Odia festival and get it replaced with the correct one.”

While many appreciated Dilip’s stand on this on going campaign “Raja NOT Rajo”, people also look this advertisements as marketing gimmicks which the companies are doing purposefully to get a wide range of reach to the customers.
