Can we really trust upon these news channels and their surveys these days? A difficult question to answer of course. Now a days the news channels and some specific journalists are misusing the press powers and media potentials to manipulate the public decision.
Some of the media fields are now waged as a watchdog for some political parties or members. They are denying media ethics which includes truthfulness, objectivity, accuracy, impartiality, fairness and public accountability and busy in making money and filling their pockets, despite of spreading awareness and showing the truth to the public. And the country will stop believing in unpaid, unbiased journalism in India.
Who doesn’t know “The Arnab Goswami”, a well-known Indian journalist famous for his quote ‘Nation Wants To know’! The news anchor and the managing director of Republic TV which is co founded by Rajeev Chandrashekhar, having a reputation of being a strong BJP supporter and Rajya Sabha MP along with another vocal supporter of BJP, Anupam Kher.
“When Goswami promoted the Republic TV as an unbiased news channel with no conflicts of interest but the real point to ponder is that the channel is working and are associated with a political party; that’s what the opposition keeps on saying.”

Recently Republic TV survey predicts that BJP will form govt. in Odisha. The NDA will gain 12 seats while the BJD seats will drop to 8 vs 20 in 2014 in Odisha if elections are held today.
Now the question arises how can he promote it as unbiased news channel?
It has been alleged that the subjects or topics in his show were clearly chosen which shows that he’s supporting a particular party which is funding the channel by all means. And disseminating the news or information and attempting to change the viewer’s point according to his false nationalistic and independent sentiments.
And this is not the first time that Arnab Goswami’s Republic channel is getting targeted for favouring BJP party and declared them as a winner in the Assembly election. Previously also he tried to pull the state government into the prime time discussion on national television in the SUM hospital incident and in the Hawala money case, though the party refused the claims and said that the allegations were malicious and baseless.
But the public doesn’t seems like agreeing with the Republic TV and survey and here are some public reactions on this survey:
No way BJD is going down so badly.Recheck is necessary.

So all we want to say that dear channel, we’ve seen before how polling surveys gone wrong for different political parties, so we’re leaving this to the public of Odisha to decide.
